SEAchange, formerly called Friends of Slains Kirk have just published an update of their news to let everyone know the stage the project is at, and their plans for the future.
SEAchange – news update
You may remember we invited you all to take part in a survey last summer concerning the Slains Kirk building and environmental ideas. Over 77% of those who took part were in favour of a feasibility study to assess viability and sustainability – and 81% would support working together to reduce our carbon footprint.
Following the open coffee afternoon we held in the Autumn, we now have a new name:
SEAchange or Slains Environmental Action for change.
Our chair is Roger Berl, Treasurer Scott Dziennik, and Secretary Anne Craig.
Many thanks to everyone who filled in the survey, to all of you who emailed us earlier, and to those who came along to find out more at the coffee afternoon in October.
We would also like to say a special thankyou to the anonymous donor who very generously gave us £100 to give our bank account a good start.
We have now been awarded grant funding to engage a consultant to do an independent feasibility study, and a surveyor to do a land and building survey.
The feasibility study is being done by Alison Simpson of Blue Nimbus Consultancy, based near Banff. She says she would like to hear from you, as she will be gathering data and evidence to discover what might work. Alison’s contact details are:

When the study is completed in March, it will be available if you would like to read it, and we will consult with you again about possible options, and what we should do.
